How updates work
Canto Pro is a one-time purchase. It includes every Pro feature released in the 12 months after you buy, and you keep those features for good. After that, nothing stops working: every update, bug fix and security fix stays free for everyone. Pro features released after your date need a renewal, which adds another 12 months. Renewing is optional, and it costs less if you renew before your date passes.

Questions about Pro
- No. You pay once and Pro is yours. Your license includes the Pro features released in the 12 months after you buy, and you keep them forever. A renewal is optional and only adds newer Pro features.
- Canto keeps working exactly as it did, with every Pro feature you already have. Updates and security fixes keep coming. Pro features released after your date show as Pro until you renew: $19 for another year, or $15 if you renew before your date passes.
- No. AI runs on your Mac, so there is nothing to meter: no query limits, no account, no trial. Pro adds the bigger jobs: deep research reports, meetings, edits across many notes, more published pages.
- On Free, nothing about your license, because there is none. With Pro, each Mac activates once and then renews a signed license lease about twice a week. Those requests carry an anonymous activation id, never your notes, your IP address, your Mac’s name or serial number. Your notes and the AI stay on your Mac.
- Open Your Macs in Canto or in your LonelyDuck account, release the Mac you no longer use, then activate the new one. Pro · 3 Macs covers three Macs at once, with sync between them; you can upgrade a 1-Mac license for $10.
- US dollars, or Korean won for card payments in Korea. PayPal doesn’t take won, so PayPal always charges the US price. Your bank may add its own fee for paying in another currency.
- Thank you. Your license now covers 3 Macs, with a fresh 12 months of new Pro features from the 1.0 release, at no cost. Update to Canto 1.0 and it moves your Mac over by itself; we also email you the new license.
