A small release that finishes a couple of things 0.5.9 left half-done, plus one big new way of talking to the AI in chat.
The headline: type @ in chat to point at anything
Until now, getting the AI to look at a specific cell, note, or file meant copy-pasting it into the chat or hoping a vague description ("the third code cell") would land. Not anymore.
Type @ in the agent chat box and a dropdown opens listing everything you can pin to your next message. Pick one, and it shows up as a colored pill right inside your sentence — so you can write things like "summarize @note Project Plan against @file design.pdf and what we said in @session yesterday's brainstorm" and the AI knows exactly what you mean.
You can pin as many as you want. A small token counter shows up so long context never sneaks up on you.
Five things you can @ today:
@selection — whatever text you have highlighted in the editor. The fastest way to ask "what about this?"
@cell — any cell in the notebook you're in (with code-cell output included)
@note — fuzzy-search any note in your vault
@file — any attachment Canto knows about (PDFs, images, audio, video, text files), grouped by type
@session — a past chat session, so you can pick up a previous conversation without digging through history
You can also send a message with only mentions and no typed text — the AI will figure out what you want from the pinned context alone.

Slash commands are now on for everyone
In 0.5.9 we shipped the new / command system but accidentally only flipped it on for development builds. The "Try it now →" button on the old Ask AI banner went nowhere for most users. That's fixed: type / in chat and the menu actually opens now. Free users get three commands; Pro unlocks the full catalog and multi-step skills.
Link reading is fast again
If you opened the Memory dashboard in 0.5.9, you may have noticed a yellow caveat next to Link RAG saying "sqlite-vec unavailable — JS fallback." That meant the AI was using a slow fallback every time it read links from your notes. The fast native version now loads correctly in the packaged app. Expect snappier link reading, especially on notes with lots of links.
