Muse • Private AI notebook

How to use Muse

Muse is designed to feel like a fast, private note editor with built‑in local AI and Memory Links. This guide covers installation, activation, and the core workflows.

1) Install

  1. Download Muse from the product page (/muse) or the downloads page.
  2. Open the DMG and drag Muse into Applications.
  3. Launch Muse. (macOS may ask for permission the first time.)

2) Activate

  1. Purchase a license (if you haven’t) from /muse.
  2. Check your email for the license key (also check spam).
  3. In Muse, paste the license key when prompted and click Activate.
  4. Manage devices any time in My Account.

Core workflow

Write notes

Create notes, organize them in folders, and keep everything local.

Use AI assist

Summarize, rewrite, brainstorm, and continue writing without leaving your editor.

Memory Links

Muse surfaces semantically related notes as you write so you can rediscover old ideas.

Tips

  • If AI features require a model download, stay on Wi‑Fi and let the first download finish.
  • Use related notes to jump between ideas instead of manually tagging everything.
  • If you’re moving from another notes app, look for import/export options in Muse.

Troubleshooting

Activation limit reached: deactivate an old device in My Account.
