Troubleshooting

Use this page to resolve common issues quickly before escalating to support.

Applies to: 0.1.0-beta.1Last updated: February 2026

Activation limit reached

Symptoms: License key is valid but activation fails with a device limit message.

Likely cause: The key is still active on old devices.

Fix: Deactivate unused devices from your account, then retry activation.

Fallback: Use Order Lookup or contact support if account access is unavailable.

Model setup or AI response problems

Symptoms: AI actions fail, stall, or return incomplete output.

Likely cause: Model is not fully downloaded, incompatible with hardware, or under memory pressure.

Fix: Retry model download on stable network and switch to a smaller model for testing.

Fallback: Use editor-only workflows temporarily and report model/device details to support.

Memory Links feel irrelevant

Symptoms: Related notes look weak, repetitive, or disconnected from current writing.

Likely cause: Sparse note corpus, vague note titles, or stale context after large edits.

Fix: Rename vague notes, add clearer nouns, and keep explicit wiki links for key relationships.

Fallback: Disable Memory Links briefly, continue writing, and re-enable after structure cleanup.

Missing notes or accidental deletion

Symptoms: A note, folder, or notebook appears missing.

Likely cause: Moved item, trash state, or failed sync between expected and current workspace state.

Fix: Check trash and recent edits first, then restore from latest verified backup if needed.

Fallback: Stop editing immediately and escalate with backup file details to avoid overwrite risk.
