Canto includes several AI entry points. Use the right one for the job to move faster.

Ask AI (Cmd+K)
Best for summaries, extraction, and direct answers from current context.
AI Assist (Cmd+.)
Best for transforming highlighted text: rewrite, shorten, structure, or change tone.
Agent Panel
Best for multi-step plans, checklists, and iterative follow-up tasks.
Autocomplete
Best for low-friction continuation while writing. Keep flow without switching context.
Recommended Prompt Patterns
- “Summarize this into 5 bullets with one action each.”
- “Rewrite this for a non-technical audience.”
- “Create a two-step execution plan with risks and mitigations.”
- “Convert this into a checklist I can paste into an issue tracker.”
Model Selection Basics
Larger models can produce stronger reasoning but use more resources. If responses feel slow, switch to a lighter model in settings and re-test your workflow.
