Memory Links
Memory Links helps Canto connect your notes semantically so old ideas become searchable by meaning, not just keywords.
Applies to: 0.1.0-beta.1Last updated: February 2026
What You Can Do
- See related notes while reading or writing.
- Jump quickly to older but relevant context.
- Reduce manual organization overhead while still preserving discoverability.
How to Use It Well
- Write notes with clear nouns (projects, people, themes).
- Open related-note suggestions and follow one relevant link every session.
- Use wiki links for explicit relationships and let Memory Links infer the rest.
- Review edge cases weekly and rename vague notes to improve future recall.
Common Misunderstandings
- It does not replace folder/tag hygiene entirely. Use both explicit and semantic structure.
- Results improve as your note base grows and becomes more specific.
- If links feel stale, review Troubleshooting → Memory and performance.
